“Before Vision Therapy, reading was exhausting for our son. He avoided reading because it was such a slow, pain-stacking ordeal. He started falling behind after 1st grade and was placed in special education for an unspecified reading disability. Before he started receiving special ed services, we started vision therapy sessions. I was blown away by the progress he made after starting vision therapy. He told us reading was easy now, and even volunteered to read out loud to us, which never would have happened before. His Special Ed Instructor is shocked as well. He is making huge, measurable progress in reading, and most importantly, he now loves to read! We had a great experience with his therapist as well. She has been so encouraging and patient with him, finding ways to make therapy fun and exciting. We will definitely miss her nowthatheisgraduating! I never would have believed that vision therapy would make such a huge difference in our son’s reading, but now I’m sharing his success story with everyone!”— WB

“L came in for his annual eye exam and Dr. Salone assessed his vision. As a good student and an avid reader we were never presented with the idea of Vision Therapy. A very thoughtful and laid-out plan was presented to work with Lee to improve some processing issues that came up on his vision exam that no one had picked up on before. After about 12 weeks, things really started to click; the exercises became easier, and you could really see so much progress. Ms. Mel and Ms. Paloma are just wonderful! They take the time to communicate with you in person, by text, or by phone – whatever works for you. After 23 weeks, Lee is graduating today, and I truly believe that they have set him up for future success. Thank you so much for everything VTC!”-LH

“My child struggled with reading in 1st grade. I knew part of it was the learning process, but I felt sure there was something else. I had her tested for dyslexia – nope, not dyslexic. I saw her physically cringe when I asked her to read. She hated it and I couldn’t understand why. I had her vision checked, and Dr. Salone realized she had Visual Processing Issues. We started VT, and the improvement was evident within the first month. During the sessions, she worked on learning how to track and visually discriminate between letters, numbers, and shapes. Then we practiced at home the following week. She has built a wonderful relationship with her therapist too! Now in 2nd grade, she is a top reader in her class! I have also seen improvements in how she approaches challenges in life.” -HW
